Outboard motor stalls when accelerating. Ive been having issue with my Yamaha Outboard for the last year. I can idle sometimes its rough and putt around but the engine stalls when I accelerate above 5-6 mph. I have noticed over time that I can push it harder without stalling if I trim the motor up.
Eventually it stalls but I can almost get on plane with someone sitting on the bow. Because outboard engines tend to sit over the winter time holes in the intake manifold gasket can occur. These increase the air intake causing a lean fuel mixture and vacuum pressure problems.
