Most likely it is your prop seal that is gone letting water get in and letting the gear oil leak outfishing line wrapped around your prop shaft can cut into and blow that seal.
Remove your prop and see if there is any fishing line wrapped around your prop shaft. The oil is black and takes a few days to leak down to that point. I have been out with the motor about 5 times and changed the oil in the lower unit a few times because I rebuilt the lower unit this winter Making sure there is no water in the lower unit.
There is a little water in the oil and a little milky. I took the lower unit off today and see no oil leaks around the water pump. Sounds as if your output shaft seals have failed.
Around here central Ohio and KY the most common cause of failure is the ingestion of fishing line on the prop shaft. It gets sucked onto the shaft and then cuts the lips on the seals. Pull your prop and look for fish line.
The drive shaft seals and the shift rod seal and the gasket are all above the oil level so it wont leak from any of those unless its been laid down. If you are sure its gear oil its gear case off drain and do a pressure test if possible otherwise inspect the shift rod boot change if necessary change it anyway and also change the drive shaft seals note they are. Ive got at 2000 F80TLRY and its leaking oil down the lower cowling. I dont see any in the bottom of the engine when I take off the upper cowling. Does this sound like the oil seal at bottom of the crankshaft.

The gear oil is either leaking along the shaft from the seal or oring 12 along the gear housing. The new seal needs a smooth surface to run on at the shaft. Strap lap the shaft with fine emory cloth.
The oring needs a smooth surface in the gear housing. Hand smooth any rough areas but dont remove too much metal. When oil or unburned fuel goes down through the exhaust housing it comes out real black from the carbon deposits from burned fuel oil.
