Reason is I fish the port side as strong side for casting accuracy just seem more effective with the rod tip out over the water and not across the cockpit. Thanks that was my reasoning for wanting to put it on the port side is that I want the trolling motor behind me on the starboard side. I have limited space while running the tiller as it is and squeezing the trolling motor on the port side really limited my fishing area. The trolling motor.
If Im operating from the console which is on the starboard side typically Ill mount a Minn Kota Terrova like this on the port side I can visually see over the motor when I am navigating and running the boat. If I am running a Tiller Boat.
